Heather & Amanda
About Us
We are just small town girls, living in a lonely world, taking the midnight train... nope hold on, that's Journey.
Heather and Amanda started Great Lakes Stitch Company for a number reasons.
Could it be that their person piles of unfinished quilts just waiting for quilting and binding had reached a staggering number? Yes. However, their main goal in starting GLSCo was to help others have more time to enjoy the things they love most in their lives by finishing outstanding projects and to give them the freedom to move on to new projects and ideas.
Heather Kalafut
Heather has a passion for creativity in all it's forms. She loves quilting, singing, watercolor painting, playing board games, cooking, baking, and if her craft room is any indication, so much more.
When asked, Heather describes her quilting style as "continuously developing" as she love taking classes and learning new techniques. She is an active member in multiple quilt guilds and has a health apperception for any and all quilts.
Heather is happily married, with two children and lives on a number of acres where her and her husband garden and enjoy the piece and quiet of country life. She currently runs multiple businesses and is an active member in her community and helping her local quilt guild running a sew-along.
